Some of my favourite pictures from the April 2007 Exhibition

These are some of my preferred pictures from my series - no particular reason why I like them, just do, really.

I remember having a chat with Chris Yap before I applied for the workshop and he told me he believed that process was as important as the end result, if not more. I feel like I've gained a lot from the process during the workshop, but the outcome was like a big loss. It felt like I had been reborn almost, but had to find my feet again and relearn how to make attractive images. I guess that's actually a good thing, better than having stuck with what's comfortable and not really taken risks and learnt something from that.

In some ways I'm even more confused than before about where I want to go from here - professionally, in terms of the personal pictures I want to make and so on. But that's probably because I have a few more options and choices than I thought were possible before. Which is good.

Maybe I'll stick with this series on cameras until I make enough good pictures. But I want to also do at least one other series in the meantime until next year's reunion show, something entirely different. I'll just have to find the time for it somehow...
